Technical Sales Coordinator
Salaried Position: $55,000-$65,000 based on education and experience.
The Technical Sales Coordinator (TSC) is a multifunctional role that provides support to sales/marketing activities, technical practices and administrative functions. The position is responsible for working with the CTO/BSM on Customer Relations Management, with responsibility for assisting with organizing and attending sales calls, and development of web/social media content. Dormant customer calling and tele prospecting rounds out the sales/marketing requirements. The technical practices side of this role focuses on long term learning and development of the existing practices and processes at Thermex. There is a requirement for administrative support that includes covering for the customer care coordinator
Other areas of focus for the role include telemarking management, website management, technical support, and assuming various special projects primarily focused on customer and internal employee engagement.
Specific Accountabilities
- Customer Relations Management – Technical Sales Support

- Work with CTO/BSM to develop specific areas of focus and a sales/marketing plan and schedule.
- Arrange for and participate in meetings/video calls/calls for customers and potential customers.
- Manage and maintain BlueStreak (ERP + CRM) database.
- Utilize and execute capabilities of software. Oversee utilization of database and assist other employees with questions and issues relating to use of the database.
- Set up new accounts, generate and send account opening emails and initiate contact.
- Schedule follow-up contact with new customers.
- Engage in dormant account follow up calls and tele-prospecting of potential new contacts.
- Lead monthly customer review/check in meetings with Thermex management and customer care team.
- Conduct quarterly reviews of customer spending changes.
- Complete quotes and other customer documents as required.
- Technical Training and Development

- Complete a training program to become familiar with all heat treating processes at Thermex.
- Work with the operations team to learn the basics of fixturing, parts handling, furnace operation and control.
- Learn and understand the Quality Assurance and Quality Control systems at Thermex.
- Train and gain experience in the work done in the metallurgical laboratory, understand the test methods, and their relevance to the processing work done at Thermex.
- Website and social media management

- Manage websites, develop and post content.
- Administer search engine optimization and pay per click (SEO/PPC). Drive traffic to website.
- Monitor, update and post on Thermex’s social media accounts.
- Back up support for administrative duties of Customer Care Coordinator

- Assist Customer Care Coordinator with administrative duties as required.
- Provide back up support in the absence of the Customer Care Coordinator.
- Answer and direct calls to the appropriate person.
- Special projects and other related duties as required.
- Attend quarterly management review meetings.
- Complete projects as assigned.
Education/Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- Post-secondary education including courses in Engineering and/or Business.
- 2-3 years related experience, preferably including both sales/marketing and engineering.
- Familiarity with processes and procedures at Thermex, or equivalent type of business is an asset.
- Previous experience as front-line contact for customers is beneficial.
- Above average computer skills, ability to provide technical support, and website management skills. Ability to develop proficiency with in-house programs and support other employees with use of the programs.
- Ability to develop marketing and telemarketing strategies, and engage potential customers and general contacts.
- Ability to complete training for the position, and willingness to take other special courses, and attend technical meetings, marketing events, etc.
Salaried Position: $55,000-$65,000 based on education and experience.
